Season Recap
- The Magnolia Ice Cream Makers (formerly Gold Eagle Beer) had the returning Norman Black as their import, and who now also calls the shots for the team, led Magnolia to the First Conference finals despite being the shortest among the 6 reinforcements, the Ice Cream Makers lost to powerhouse Great Taste Coffee, 4-2 in the Open Finals.
- In the All-Filipino Conference, Magnolia was eliminated and placed last. Coach Norman Black suited up anew for Magnolia in the Third Conference, which change its product to Magnolia Quench Plus, the Thirst Quenchers led the elimination round standings at one point with a 7-win, 2-loss card, but lost their last three games in the eliminations, blew two chances of making it to the semis, first an outright seat where they lost to Ginebra, 98–106 on October 24, and the last game of the quarterfinals against Great Taste, 101–106 a week later, the Thirst Quenchers were ousted in the final four semifinals by Great Taste Coffee in a playoff match on November 3, 95–99, wherein they played without guard Rudy Distrito, who was suspended for that altercation in the final minute involving him and the Loyzaga brothers, along with the Loyzaga Patriarch, Caloy Loyzaga, who joined the fray while watching the action at the courtside seats, of the previous Magnolia-Great Taste crucial encounter.
